Perhaps no single element of your cabinet hardware selection will have as much impact on the look of your home than the finish. Shopping for finishes can be confusing as well, as different manufacturers may have different names for similar finishes, with the result that our site has literally hundreds of finishes.
At CabinetHardware.org, we have made it a priority to make finding your ideal finish as easy as possible. We hope the following tips to most easily find the finish right for you:
- We have created three tiers of finishes in order to help you drill down as quickly as possible. The top tier has six master categories, with similar categories grouped together. For instance, the categories Silver, Nickel, Chrome and Steel, which all have a similar look, are all grouped together on the master tier, but will each be their own category on the next tier. The final tier will contain the subcategories, for instance Satin Nickel will be a subcategory under Nickel.
- Different manufacturers often sell the finishes with the exact same name, but they may not look identical. Customers unwilling to accept even slight variations in the finish may want to stay with one manufacturer.
- One of the best ways to test out the finish and make sure it looks right in your kitchen, or to test whether the finishes from multiple manufacturers will indeed match is to order samples. We offer reimbursements for sample orders when the sample order is followed up by a larger one. See our samples policy for details.
