Ten Percent of Revenue to Rebuilding Homes
At Cabinet Hardware.org, we wanted to do something more than just sell our products and make our money. When deciding what we could do to give back, it occurred to us that all of our customers are making purchases to improve their homes, so doesn't it make sense that we should be giving back in a way that helps those in need improve their homes as well? Accordingly, we have decided to give 10% of the revenue from all standard orders for rebuilding grants. Purchasers can choose from a list of eligible projects the project they would like their 10% to go to, or they can leave it up to our discretion. When projects reach their funding goal the project is funded and a grant is given.
Some Frequently Asked Questions about our grants:
What happens if a project doesn't hit its goal?
Projects are given three months to reach their goal. If they do not reach that point, in most cases the project will not get funded at all. But that money is not lost, it will instead be put into our discretionary fund. And often times, we will use the money in our discretionary fund to take projects that are still below their goals over the top. So a project that has $250 and 110 votes and a $1000 goal probably will receive nothing at all, but a project that has $870 and 424 votes with a $1000 goal will likely be given an additional $130 from the discretionary fund and will be fully funded.
What do you mean by a standard order?
A standard order is any that is processed at our normal listed prices, whether that order is placed online or over the phone. A non-standard order includes buik orders given at a discount, price matches, or any other order negotiated order given at below the listed prices online. Our profit margins are simply too small on these types of orders to make them eligible.
